    Tow Ring Install: how to?

attached are two pix of my 98 Yam 1200XL. I'd like to install a tow ring near the top of where the lower one is pictured. What is the best way to do this for structural integrity, etc? One of the pix shows where the current (too low for towing kids) is located on the back side. Advice from people who have done this is appreciated

Installed a stainless u-bolt with backing plate on my 98 XL. Oriented it horizontally on the vertical portion of hull just below the seat release. Works fine pulling a double chariot tube with two kids.
Have to dis-connect visibility spout next so it stops spraying in their faces. LOL.
