rr 8800 ecu for px idle question

cant seem to get this ecu to idle anywhere near smooth. any tips on fuel psi and such from anyone who's ran it?

58-60psi seems to have it run rather nice throughout the entire RPM range but idle it terrible. high 14's to 15's afr, it stumbles and miss's. soon as you crack the throttle it smooths out. i have all the other necessary stuff to run this ecu and always good gas. just looking for some pointers as i haven't seen any in my search

    thanks
    mike

Just install the rotax racing cam and idle is absolute perfekt, you always need to run that ECU with a Racing Camshaft !!!!!!!

I've got a buddy here with that ecu and Turbo with same issue. He's tried all different fuel/cam settings and still rough idle.
The word is you need different cam to idle good and not so off on your afr.

well since that 6224 says specifically its for the stand alone ecu i'd imagine the cam to get would be the 4224 but thats an expensive guess for me....

So just sell that ECU and get a Les Cooke remap then

id spend just as much time money pulling my hair out figuring out fueling needs for the les as i would getting a cam for this one.....

BTW this ecu with a stock cam pulls A LOT harder then a Riva. can't compare to a les as i've never had one but its night and day from riva's. i'd like to see it with the right cam. don't have top speed numbers as i've turned into a buoy chaser....

Just like mrracing posted you will need a RR4224 cam or a Rude fuel controller to get it to idle smooth and clean up the midrange.

hey Mike, how much time do you spend at idle?

That cam will do alot more for you than just a smooth idle
