    Tiny Tach is a POS.

I finally took my ski out today wanting to try out my tiny tach and it worked fine until the wire that wraps around the coil separated from where it is soldered. I just bought the dang thing in October. I tried to fix it but no luck. I emailed the company and hopefully they will replace it. While it did work I did get a max rpm of 7760. Water temp. is 66 in Tampa Bay.

Who did you buy it from?

While I feel your pain, I really do not think one lead wire coming off makes them a POS.

    Things happen

ive been using the same tiny tach for 3 years now switching it from ski to ski and never had a problem with it, finally upgraded to a commercial version a month ago for the 4 stroke engines
maybe yours was kinda weak from the factory..

for the money they are very good tachs imo.

I think I should send some pic of mine to Tiny Tach. It was bought in late 94/early 95 (have to check recpts) and it STILL WORKS!

    Smile tach

Hopefully, Henry you will not have any more trouble but with a build you'll have some bugs to sort out.

Are you talking about the wire breaking off right at the base of the case or at the end of the wire itself? If its the end of the wire itself you can just re-solder a new one on it will work fine.

Just got an email from the company that sells them and they believe bad soldering is the culprit. They are sending me another one. Yes I tried to fix it but no luck. I guess I shouldn't complain too much considering the price but it kinda of pissed me off since I was attempting to get data on RPM's in the middle of the bay.
