    AFAIK,

    185 = 17 teeth
    215+ = 16 teeth

    They are not interchangable due to shaft length/physical limitations of housing. This is AFAIK.

    Best to wait until the yanks wake up or someone who knows for sure.

    I have an X charger w/ a 17 tooth installed --185 GTX. What problems am I asking for? It seems to be running fine, but I have not pulled it out to check.

    Fitment of the housings are the same but the 08 housing is thicker and stronger than the 04's wich have been known to crack.

    The flywheel will need to be changed if you want to goto 16 tooth from a 17 tooth AFAIK.

    I thought that may have been what you were asking. The 185 is 88 teeth and the 215 is 87.
