    2007 F12x - Is it possible to turn down the idle?

    Ok, probably a dumb question but I wanted to ask just to be sure.

    My ski idles at around 5-6 MPH, which is a major pain in the butt.

    I'm thinking, that since it's fuel injected, that it's not possible to turn down the idle. (not sure where I read that)

    Great, thanks!

    Now that I think about it, it was a service guy at the local honda dealer that told me it couldn't be done. Argh.

    Having it idle so high is not a good thing, it takes off so fast once started. I have to tell everyone that drives it "be pointed in the direction you want to go when you start it."

    It was especially a pain when trying to tow a skier. I kept having feather the reverse to keep from moving. Easy for me (after practice) but hard for newbie drivers.

    I keep my idle high so that I can cruise faster through the nowake zones with my hand off the throttle. The Marine Patrol leave me alone since they see I can't go any slower.
    When you go to start the engine, pull the reverse lever so it doesn't take off forward.

    I don't hit that many no wake zones so that's not really an issue. Also, as I said, having to feather the reverse and use it to "fake" neutral is a pain, especially when someone is driving that isn't used to the ski. It's also a major pain when I'm get ready to tow a skier/boarder.

    I'd rather have to give it some gas in the no wake zone, rather than have someone start it up and run it into something, which has already happened a few times. Luckly no damage has been caused.
