How Come these Engines Drop Valves?

I see lots of the skis that are being parted out have dropped valves. Why does this happen so frequently and how can it be prevented? Thanks

Short version. Stems get rusted. Stem gets stuck in valve guide. Piston hits valve. Game over.

i think a fogging system should help prevent the rust.

These ski's are like women, they tend to raise hell any time they get the chance. Ha ha

you can make a fogging kit for about $5 in parts and about 2 hours of your time (if that)

06+ has a fogging port on the TB. Seadoo also makes a kit to retro fit any 4-Tec.

04, 05, and some 06's came with hollow valves and are the ones that you see dropping. All newer models have updated valves.
