My 2006 G1300PR Progress. From bone stock to ???

Want to say hello to my fello GPR friends and start a thread of the progress of my new to me 06 GPR.

I purchased my GP1300R yesterday. The ski has 72 hours on it, is in bone stock condition, and came from Mobile, AL and was fresh water used only. Looking at the title it was not actually sold to be used till April of 2008, so it has been out for only a couple of years. I lucked out because after talking to the guy he was coming to Gainsville, so I met him at a local lake to test ride it. Everything checked out and compression was 120 on the front two cyl and about 116 in the rear. The ski is super clean and the only scratches were from the trailer.

Only problem I found was the trim lever was bound up. I took it apart and found the two ball bearings were rusted from sitting. I cleaned it up and put a little layer of waterproof grease in there and it is all good now.

Here are a few pictures from the Craigslist ad.

Thanks guys! I really am looking forward to getting this ski setup and getting out to ride it.

Well, I decided to start with the D plate and found that I have a lot of cleaning to do!! YIKES!! Couple of the exhaust bolts were loose enough to cause the pipe to rub causing dust. Not to mention there was some rust on couple of the clamps and bolts on the throttle body assembly. Looks like a days worth of work to make it Gus approved.

If your cat is still good why bother with a D plate? Also how much did you pay for this sharp bad boy? I thought only the 2007 models were the black with gold trim color?
