    R2 or R3?

    Hello speed freaks,

As long as the season is off now, I will take the chance to get my ride ready for next season.

As you can see in my signature, I have all the basic parts installed, now time to reflash and get the parts to do what it is suppose to do.

I have Riva Valve Train Kit on the way along with a Power Shot and Riva Reduction Nozzle.

Now, should I go for R2 or R3? my goal is 85 mph. And what ring size to use with the nozzle? I have 13/24 will repitch to 25 to suit the new rpm and mods.

i have been running with the riva nozzle kit. with the r2/c3.
    get the 85mm ring..........
you are gonna want/need the twin prop with the r2 or the r3.
i am getting the r3 upgrade......
the difference between the two is the low and mid range performance.

I have tried both in a couple ski's the R3 has better bottom the R2 has a slight top speed advantage.
All the testing was done back to back in the water.

Thats interesting Jim, can't imagine wanting more bottom end power to blow the pump out even more. Did the R3 give you better fueling on top with the E1 so that the Powershot wasn't needed??

Powershot was needed. according to the AFR numbers, i don't think just the R3 will be enough for the E1 wheel in the winter months but in the summer it probably will be just enough.

Rather use an FPR then the Powershot IMO.

    Thanks Jim!

You are correct Duke yes that is another avenue, with the FPR you do not have to worry about water getting on it like you do on the powershot.
