    Heat Exchanger Setups

Whats the best way to setup a heat exchanger setup for the 4-tec machines. Are there any kits available or is it build your own setup. Please post pics of your install and where to purchace exchanger and how to build brackets. Here's the thread to show off some of you guy's creativity. After checking out some of these recent threads i'm leaning heavy towards doing one of these but would want something worthy of a show peice. I have seen some of you guys setups in past threads that truly look awsome!!!

    Purchased Heat Exchanger

So I bought this thing from JFizzleJR. I figured it was a plate setup but I didnt ask and he sent me this? Any idea if this will be a good heat exchanger or should I try to get a plate setup working. And if this is a good heat exchanger where do I pull the water from to go through it?

What I am guessing from the pics is. Take the hose coming out of your intercooler and plug it in to the smaller fittings. then to your exhaust manifold. Then take your hoses from your rideplate and connect them to the larger fittings. Before you do this try it out with regular water to make sure when you pour water into the small fitting it comes out in the other small fitting and the same goes with the larger fitting.

Okay maybe I am asking a stupid question but why go with a heat exchanger?
What is it going to cool down ?

when you go to a riva ride plate or higly modified stock plated it removes the heat exchanger in the ride plate that cools the engine..so you either need to go open loop cooling or install a differnt kind of heat exchanger to keep the engine coolkinda like tghe radiator does in a car..

It allows us to modify the closed loop ride plate or to run a modified rideplate for better handling..Our OEM stock rideplates act as a radiator for cooling the antifreeze...Once you start to modify them the cooling ability becomes unusable because we cut into the cooling passages..This is were we use the HX...It takes the place of the rideplate for cooling so we can run these modded plates...
