Wanted: Info on correct impeller removal tools for 650LX

    Hi folks,

I have a `90 650LX that I`m refitting over the winter. I have it in a decent state of tune so it runs well etc., but the prop is pretty rough. I have a new OEM prop and a good used intake grate on the way courtesy of Ebay. next up is to take out the pump and go through that. What I am wondering is what is the correct tool(s) for impeller removal. Some sites suggest 18mm shaft holding tool while a few suggest 16mm. And what about the correct tool for turning the impeller.

Any help to point me in the right dirction would be greatly appreciated, thanks,

lx650 uses the 500's pump request a 500's youll be good .. i made a shaft holding tool out of angle iron and an old intermediate welded to it. a good holder is irreplaceable... the o/e impeller is easy to remove as is an external hex drive ..the aftermaket has internal tooth drive (can shear off) may also need to find some shims to space your impeller to the hub wall (more then likely with "new" you may need to remove one)..
