EASTPOINTE, MI -- The 2010 HYDRO-TURF APBA Watercross National Tour, Presented by Mystik Lubricants and Yamaha with Supporting Tour Sponsor Sea-Doo, features a six-event, eleven-round series that will determine the U.S. National Tour Champions in eleven Pro-Am and Expert racing classes including Women's classes. *The 2010 series will consist of five double rounds events spread throughout the United States, plus the HYDRO-TURF APBA Watercross Nationals in Nashville, Tennessee -- the US National Championship.

The APBA is excited to announce the newest Tour stop on the 2010 APBA Watercross National Tour – Colonial Beach, Virginia. *The event will take place in the historic town of Colonial Beach on August 7-8 and take place on the Potomac River. *The Colonial Beach site is a unique race site as the pits/land is in Virginia and the water/racecourse is in Maryland. *The Potomac River is more than 5 miles wide in Colonial Beach and very picturesque. *It is a great race site with many exciting area attractions for those attending the race. *There are hotels as well as many bed and breakfasts that are walking distance to the race site. *The event will feature a $10,000 cash purse and trophies for all classes. *Many years ago Colonial Beach has hosted regional watercraft racing events but this will be the first time for a National event. *The city has done an outstanding job at promoting the event and spectator attendance is expected to be HUGE for this event. *It will be a fun filled event that you will not want to miss!

“Colonial Beach and Westmoreland County are very pleased to be in partnership with the APBA to bring these typesof quality events to our region”, said Carey Geddes, President of the Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce. *The festivities start on Friday where there will be a Kick-Off party with live music on the outdoor town stage right next to the host hotel and where everyone will be set-up/camping for the event. This party will be open to all contestants, their crews, the media, and the public. It would be a great time to have the racers and everyone else involved to mingle, relax and enjoy an evening of music. *The party will start at 5pm and go until 10pm. *There will be beer, wine and food available and the band Old School will be performing live, and they play Classic Rock, New Rock, Pop, Blues and Country. *There will be great racing and special parties planned for the participants and crews all weekend long.

All the United States top racers are expected to be in attendance including Dustin Farthing, *Eric Francis, Dustin Charrier, Ryan Hardwick, Tim Neff, Brian Baldwin, Troy Snyder, Rob Greenwald, Dennis Mack, Jake Zier and Amy Green to name a few. *The action both on and off the water is going to be intense with all riders vying for victory and their share of prize money. *In addition to event prize money, Supporting sponsor Sea-Doo has posted an impressive contingency program for the racers. The long Pier in Colonial Beach is great opportunity for the race fans to see some exciting racing action. *It is going to be an event not to be missed, so make your plans today to be a part of the all the action in Colonial Beach. *Each round will be filmed and a half hour show from each round will air on the MavTV and Untamed Sports television networks.
