    '08 Sea-Doo 130hp 650hrs

    Hi guys,

I dont post here much but need a little help from the experts!

My uncle is looking to buy a cheap ski for his beach house, to tow his kids around in a tube or knee board, and have a bit of fun on.

He has found the above ski for sale at a jet-ski hire place on an island close by. The guy said he just changes them over every 2 years. It has always been serviced and never given any trouble, apparently.

This will be my uncles first ski, and if he likes it, he will probably keep it in the shed for when his kids get older, and buy a new RXT.

How many hours do these 130hp 4 strokes usually last? I have heard of them doing 1000 hours before a rebuild, is this true?

Do the '08's have any issues? What things can we look for when we go to test ride it?

    Thanks, Mark

Hey buddy, I have heard of a few with over 1000 hours, so they are good donks for sure. As far as things to look for, a comp test is always a good place to start... Would I buy it?? Depends how good of a deal we are talking I guess.

no mate its plus $500 for a brand new trailer from the same guy, so $5500 all up, and thats with no negotiating, so may very well be able to get it thrown in.

I haven't looked at pricing for the gti's but I dare say you could get a double digit hours gti for not a whole lot more.. I don't know what your budget is like, but if you could get a 50 hour or so gti for 2k more, I would be inclined to go with that route.

That's crazy! Over here with that model, that many hours, and being a rental ski.... someone would be lucky to get $1,500 for it.
