Lightbulb The new and improved idler gear and shaft for the sho s.c. Clutch frombyamaha

has anyone seen the new idler gear and shaft for the SHO?

mine came in and it is on its way to r&d to be lightened and balanced.

there is a definite difference between the old and new.

I hate to say it Gordon but I'm in the wait and see mode as I've heard there are new clutch systems coming out.

And it's 22 F outside with a 20 mph wind blowing from the West.

we are just coming into sumer and would like a fix to be sorted now
one of the guys i ride with has just done a clutch at 56 hours
i'm now at 50 hours so 6 hours to go
he has higher boost than me so in 6 hours riding time will find out if that makes a big diference

I am in a 100% wait and see mode. I am not interested in throwing good money after bad. I am not doing any racing nor rec riding until I see a solid solution.

Hope it gets sorted really soon as well, Kev, I spoke with oldmate the other day hope he got his new clutch in OK. I did 2 clutches in 30 hrs total, but that was with big boost wheel, higher timing and 90 % surf riding and slippery shit semi synthetic oil.
I now run with stock wheel, backed down the timing to a 91 tune, adjusted my position translation throtlle numbers to make the throtlle respose much smoother and run a surf map with a limit of 7800 and smoother throttle translations so hopefully this puts alot less stress on the clutch in the choppy stuff, and then flick a switch to run my high speed flat water map for the ride home or river runs so hopefully will keep my clutch good for 80-100 hrs. Its got 30 on it now with no probs so far.
Come on yamaha get this sorted out real soon.
