    04 RXP Questions

    Hello,

I'v been reading several posts about bad valves for on the rxp. I was wondering if there is a way to inspect them before anything happens. Or is it better just to replace them? I have 130 hours and it is stock. It seems to be running a little slow but I don't have any gps numbers to confirm it.

    Thanks.

If it is an 04 and you nor anyone prior has changed out the Valves then you are definitely running a very high chance of dropping a valve because the 04-05's and even some 06's are know to come with hollow exhaust valves with the serial numbers ending in 72. The factory exhaust valves you want to have are the ones with numbers 75. I would highly recommend changing them out before you drop one which will lead to a costly repair.

There is not many things the entire board agrees on but I would bet we would agree the 04/05 valves need to be replaced as preventitive maintenance.
