Oil level in Yamaha SHO? Do I need to warm it up?

Not sure about this. To check the oil level on the SHO do I have to warm it up first or can it be done with it cold? I remember on the VX it said to warm it up but I cant find anything about that in the manual.

On the SHO it's best to check your oil level before running the engine while all the oil is in the pan. The VX uses a dry sump system, so it's necessary to run it before checking the oil in order to fill the reservoir.
