    hey drew
here in Australia i asked the AJSBA to amend our rules so that we could run them in stock class
they adopted it straight away at last years AGM
and we are a country that pretty much runs to the IJSBA rules bar that one now

hell and i dont even race stock class

My argument is, if everything else is (Apart from intake, impeller, sponsons, pump seal) is stock the inclusion of a BOV to prolong the life of the clutch & super charger will not have any performance improvements. If anything it will probably make the SC less responsive. On a fully modified machine I can see the benefits.

This is all about protecting the investment.

can the GH community please submit their experiences and opinion to see if we can get this turned around. Once we get enough ill get the officials to take a look.

    Cheers
The officials should be aware that we are not talking about $90 clutches for the seadoos, these sho clutches are $500 not pocket change and a BOV will protect your investment + it does no add any performance gain.

are you serious that a new clutch is $400. :O I always thought the clutch was around $90.

I think the sprag itself is cheep but the entire clutch assembly is 400$.

That is correct. The sprag can be had for $90 or less. The rest of the assembly is what costs.
If you do not replace it the new sprag is just gong to ride on that old surface that the old sprag blew up on.

Different people have had different experiences with replacing the entire assembly or not, but is a race worth the risks?

And that does not include the cost of all the other parts required when replacing a clutch , such as the 4 crush washers, the oil pump gasket and of course a gallon of oil all which will add another $100 approx to the bill without any labour costs.

I thought BOV's were illegal to fit due to them venting emissions to atmosphere...this was why i thought yamaha did not fit them in stock form
