    My Vipec afr logs

When I look at my afr logs I see that the everytime at about the 18 second after start up mark it changes quite a bit. This is really noticeable as from starting I have idle through a six not zone.
Any ideas . I have looked at the fuel set up but cant see what is doing that.

    more info needed
is it rich or lean when it changes
and what does it change to

it could just be the time it takes for the lambda sensor to warm up

It goes richer, I was hoping it is just the lamda sensor warming up but I dont know how long it takes for them to warm up.

Just a general idea from MoTeC

"Do not place the sensor in a vertical position; excess heat soak will prevent ... temperature . The sensor will take approximately 20 seconds to heat up. ..."

Take the sensor out and hit it with the end of the flame of a small gas torch for 5 to 10 seconds.
This will burn off any excess carbon buildup from running rich at idle/nowakezone.
Sometimes they just age and need replacing.
Mine (about 20hrs old) will take up to 2 minutes to activate in the motec system and other times a few seconds.
At the end of the day the lambda sensors are treated as a consumable item like oil and filters, cost of doing the business of jetsking.
The only place to fit a lambda sensor to an FX/Z is in the manifold.
You can crack the heater on the sensor quicker if your using a modified waterbox rather than a stock waterbox simply from splashback of water.
I stay with the stock waterbox and exhaust for this reason. I only loose a max of 5hp by staying stock exhaust. Worth it not to have the drone as well.

So long story short..........try a new lambda sensor and compare it to the old one.

    Hope this helps,
    Dean

It could also be as simple as you are seeing a start-up scheme in the ECM.
