    Question Polaris 2003 Virage I

    The engine will idle and run at full throttle under load. I have a bad miss or runs rough at mid RPMs, 4000-5000. seams like its lean. The computer has no codes,39 to 46 volts on engine monitoring, changed coils,TPS,CPS,compression mag 125 cent 130 pto 125. I tested the gas and it has 5% enthenol. I am stuck help.

    You are using the correct NGK PZFR6H spark plugs - correct? New spark plugs?

    Clean all electrical connectors associated with the EMM, injectors and ignition coils. You want zero Nyogel dielectric grease on the metal pins in the connectors. Use no-residue electrical contact cleaner to remove excess grease and dirt from the pins. There should be some grease on the seals around the connectors, but not on the actual mating pins (both pin and socket must be clean).

    Make sure the coil grounds are 100% good.

    If the above makes no difference, send the EMM to DFI Technologies for check and repair. Contact info can be found in my signature links.

    yes I have new PZFR6HS plugs and have tried other parts from a running unit.

    You have another Virage i?

    If so, then swap over the EMM and injectors. See if the problem goes away.

    I have used both emm and all coils on both machines. No change. What next, I will call DFI they have repaired 20+ units for me already. Thanks

    Let me get this clear. You have two EMM (plus injectors). In one PWC either EMM will work just fine?

    And in the other machine neither EMM will work properly?

    Have I got this right?

    I have two emms and both were used on the unit that will not run right in 4000 to 5000 rpms.
    The other unit runs good, I just am using it for test parts.

    If both EMM show the same rough running problem on one ski, and yet the 'good' EMM works fine on the other ski, then the EMM may not be the problem cause. When you swap EMM, do you also swap the injectors?

    Since you have swapped so many other parts, (including the TPS) I am beginning to suspect the flywheel or stator may have a problem. Have you inspected them for damage?

    Do take the time to clean and check all the connectors. Sometimes all it needs is the excess and dried up dielectric grease cleaned out of the various pins and sockets.
