What are the engine mount bungs made of? I see rust HELP!

I just took out one of my mounts and snapped the bolt off in the hull and the others came out with penetrating oil and alot of cursing. What are the nuts made of that are molded in the hull? There is alot of rust there and I am wondering if I am screwed. No pun intended.

This appears to be a salt water ski, and I am replacing everything except the hull, but if these can rust out, I might have to junk the hull.

I think I am screwed. I cannot get the bolt out of the hull. Are there any options?

Right. Just epoxy a new one in.

And I believe they are brass from what I've seen as well.

Does anyone have a line on the inserts? This has really taken the wind out of my sails.

    Note for future reference.

When there is Loctite used on the bolt threads, you should apply some localized heat to cook the thread compound before attempting to turn the bolt. Heat breaks down the holding strength of the thread locking material.

You need enough heat to alter the thread locking compound, but not so much heat that you damage the hull or the epoxy holding the hull insert in place.

Also, stainless steel bolts do not like impact tools. If you use impact, go easy on it or you will shear off the bolt.
