    Fuel Usage Measurement/Calculation

Without using an external sensor, can the motec calculate the fuel used?

    yes

    Under
    Adjust
    General Set up
    Fuel
    Set up
There is a fuel used calculation
Read the help to work out what number to put in there.
For ID 1000 cc injectors at 50 psi the cal number to start with is 4340
The calculation is based on injector pulse width as a percentage of full flow
It increments up while the ECU is running and you can log it
It resets each time the ECU is reset but you can set up an accumlative figure in the engine log area if you want.
For those of you with dashes you can send the info to the dash which can then tell you how much fuel you have used live, how much is left, how long you can run at this current speed and fuel flow information.

That should keep you going for a bit

    Cheers

    So Pete,

    Is this found under?:

    Adjust
    Data Logging Setup
    Fuel Main
    Fuel Used

Or is there another section for the engine log area for the accumulated total.

I love showing my ignorance here

If I get this right then I'll have so many more question about sending info to the dash later.

    Thanks Pete,

This motec programming is like feeding a 7 foot worm to a sparrow. It's going to take a while to digest.

Apparrently I've run my motec for 47 hours 38 mins and 04 seconds since I've owned it.........so the engine log tells me?!

Uhhhh???.......didn't think I ran it for that long between screwing up motors.
