    Converting a 900 to 1050 spec

I have just been looking at the parts manuals for the 97 SL900 and I have seen that most parts are common between the 900 and 1050 (including the bottom end, cdi, exhaust etc). The only real difference I can see is in the top end, jugs, pistons as well as the keihin jetting. Is it viable to technically upgrade a 900 to 1050 by changing a few bolt ons? Has anyone ever done this before? Would like any input from the experts as I will be doing a top end so if it is easy enough to convert I would consider it.

I also noticed that there are more options available for 1050's when doing a top end so I'm taking that into consideration as well as the extra power which would be welcome.

You OK with buying new 1050cc cylinders?

You MAY need to change the impeller pitch depending on how much more power you manage to get out of the extra 150cc

So technically it can be done yeah? I would be looking at something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/polar...rcraftQ5fParts

I certainly wouldn't buy new cylinders!

Me too, don't matter now as I got em and their on the way to Australia. I picked up a set of 40mm keihins from the same engine all is ready to bolt on which is all I expect I will need to do to do this conversion. I can't see anything else required apart from perhaps messing around with impeller/pitch later......
