    Skat Seal does it work?

My ski sank twice, I guess because of the carbon seal. Does anyone know if ithe Skat Seal/Kit works & will it prevent my ski from sinking 3X. Thank you...

Stock is best IF it's maintained.

Have you checked your motor mounts?

Yes they are very good but you have to grease them all the time, I run a Les Cooke version of the same thing and its the best way for high power but it does take alot of maint. and expensive grease to keep it working well.

If you ride just for fun stick to the carbon seal setup.

Are you running a 3 blade by any chance???

I run a Rad For Racing seal, real good and easy to maintain,Normal grease as you use around the steering and reverse cables, nothing flash, 4 - 5 pumps of the grease gun after each ride and all swet
The Les Cooke seal is no where as good, and you have to take the driveshaft out and move the seal over to remove the S/c, bugger !!
Have used it for 2 years and raced with B kit 55 hrs approx and all sweet,

I dont know abot the quality of the Skat or Rad4 as iv not run them but I dont need to remove the shaft to get the SCer out, you just have to trim the coupler so it sits in the right place then the SCer will come out, its tight but it comes in and out.

What I will say about the Les seal is that it has a much bigger bearing then any of the others, this results in less chance of bearing bind.

I have seen bearings fail that have been used in salt water with normal grease, I use waterproof chain greese for MX bikes that is lithium based and my bearing looks good as new everytime I check it. R88

I'm running a 4 blade...Seems to work well so far. I had to take the engine out and replace the motor mounts, do you think maybe it's not aligned straight?

Thanks for the reply...How fast is your ski? Looks like you did a lot of upgrades? Where did you find the light weight hood & seat?
