Can I Tie my Laptop to the Desktop using USB?
I have a DVD in the laptop, I do not have one in the desktop.
The new Map Source is a DVD. Can I get a USB cable and just tie them togather and transfer the DVD data to the desktop?
The laptop belongs to work and I want all of the personal stuff to stay on the DT.
Or is it easier to get a DVD player??

If you mean to watch the dvd than you just plug ur monitor into the laptop... but if you want to save the dvd to the desktop you need to get a dvd ripper that rips the dvd off the disk and onto your computer...

Well depends how many files there are! Do you have a router or hub at home that both of these can hook up to? If so you can setup the laptop to be seen by its computer name then transfers the files! USB to USB can be done if you have a USB data link cable! which is different from the normal usb cable people use! The USB data link cable has to connections that are both wide and flat at the ends! A regular USB cable has one wide and flat connection on one end and narrow and square connection on the other end! You can't use this type to connect both computers to! Other to options are get a USB thumb (jump) drive and load the data on to it and upload the date on the desktop! Or get a DVD/CD burner and burn the files and transfer it that way! You can get a DVD burner on Newegg.com for around 40-50 bucks! Hope this helps out!

I figure I need to pick up a burner, but wanted to do this now.
So I pick up the Data Link Cable and then the DT will see the DVD on the LT?
I will get a cable tomorrow and give it a try.
