    Conversion ski

Has anyone done a conversion on a Polaris sl ski? such as a 650 750 750 slt or a 780,900 or a 1050 by swapping to a different motor from another brand?

I could be doing a 900 to 1050 any moment now.....looks like the easiest conversion, if that is possible!

Put a 1200 in it. 1050's do mid -55's. I was actually asking if anyone has changed brands of engines in thier conversion swap.. like a 951 seadoo or sho motor in one..

I don't think so, 1050 will do 62 no probs - heck my 900 last year pushed 60 on GPS so I would expect better!

I am actually going to measure and see if a 12F motor will fit in an SLT.

SWEET! Thats what i'm talking about..

The first question is..What speed can this hull achieve ? 70,80.90 ? SAFELY??? For the most part, the slt hull is extremly stable. i could sleep on the thing at 50.

Beerdarts does 63 and looks fine at 63 on the water. Great job steve!

See, Steve says use a 4-tec. could you elaborate on that for us Steve? Certain year? Basically tear another ski down and swap?

The 4 Tec would not fit in the SL hull, not enough room. Personally if you want to waste time doing a conversion, start with a hull worthy of the time and effort. Smaller motors like the 951 2 cyl. should fit easy, but again..is it worth the effort? Not in my book after doing a swap.

The 4-Tec should fit into the SLT its about the same size as a 1200. Not much bigger then the 951 with pipe.
