    Loss of speed

I am trying to find a 3 mph speed loss. The only thing I have found is a broken pump shoe bracket right by the bolt insert. I filled the back of the boat with 5 gal. of water and removed the pump shoe. I thought there was a crack, but the water is coming out of the bolt hole with the bolt screwed in place. Could this be my loss of speed?????

Thanks for the advice in advance,
    David

Reading your previous post, I am only assuming your pump tunnel is cracked and the reinforcement did not cover the mounting surface either for the pump shoe brackets. Did you lay fiberglass only over the tunnel ?

It also sounds as if you have some cracking around the bolt holes (water leaking) and your pump shoe may be hanging some.

Did your pump come out easy or was it difficult. Normally, when sealed properly, they are pretty hard to get out.

Can you post us some pics of the areas of concern? tunnel, brackets, pumpos shoe mouting area ect...

The pump shoe was extremely hard to get out. My shoe is not to low. The hull and the tunnel look fine. The tunnel was reinforced just around the tunnel. Big mistake on my part not to continue to the brackets. It only makes since to me that if I am taking on water this would be a loss of speed. The bracket was broke just past the bolt hole on the end. I think the bolts might have been to tight. Is there anyway to remove the reinforcement and start over with the carbon fiber????

    Thanks for the reply

What other things have given you indication over your speed loss besides your speed. I assume you are using a GPS.
Are your RPM's still the same, have you lost any ?
