Mike Follmer-Team Yamaha Press ReleasePRESS INFORMATIONFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 18, 2010 – Fountain Valley, CA: R&D YAMAHA Team FOLLMER is proud to announce the signing of a new long term marketing sponsorship with CP-Carrillo, the manufacturer of CP Pistons and Carrillo rods. CP Pistons is recognized as a technological leader in piston design and development for all venues of motorsports and has built a high quality reputation for manufacturing pistons built to perform and out last; especially in powersport and sport compact applications. After nearly 50 years, the name Carrillo is synonymous with high quality connecting rods. Carrillo has won more races in virtually every format of motorsports than any other connecting rod manufacturer – in the world.
CP-Carrillo president, Barry Calvert stated that he was very excited to sign the agreement with long time PWC Offshore racer and factory YAMAHA rider Mike Follmer because of Mike’s many accomplishments and numerous championships in the PWC sport. “We will use Mike and his R&D factory YAMAHA Team as a platform to enhance and promote our involvement in the PWC market,” said Calvert, “and we will use his teams use of our rods and pistons to promote our full line of internal engine components specifically designed and available for all types of PWC’s.” 2011 will once again see R&D factory YAMAHA Team Follmer campaigning on their Yamaha FZR’s, but their advantage in this years annual points championship battle will be the new R&D Engines built and prepared by Bill Chapin and Glenn Dickinson of R&D Performance Products with CP-Carrillo internal components.
Having been in the PWC sport for over 20 years, Mike Follmer had this to say about the new sponsorship agreement with CP-Carrillo; “I am honored to have CP-Carrillo on board and under the hood for the coming year. CP Pistons and Carrillo Rods are well established winners in all forms of racing and with R&D YAMAHA Team Follmer being added to their marketing efforts, I believe we will be able to continue moving forward towards additional championships.”
