    RXP-X tuning Question

    I have a 2008 RXP-X with the following mods.
    Riva I/C relocation kit
    Riva Air Intake
    15/22 prop
    Worx Grate
    Gutted water box
    Thru Hull Exhaust
    Reverse Bucket mod

Do I have to worry about my ski being lean at WOT. I have read that some say the p-x is lean in stock form. Should I install a AFR guage? I have had motorcycles the first thing you did with exhaust and intake was put a power commander on them. Is a powershot or rude fuel controller an option? Do I even worry about it? Just looking for some opinions!!!

They do run lean from the factory and even more so when you start adding more air like you have. How cold is it where you ride and do you plan on more mods from where your at? May not be a bad investment for ya! I think mine ran at upper 13's with the same as you but 4" intake in the winter.....

I used to run similar mods. I would not worry about it. But then again it does not get to cold here.

I live in Delaware where right know it is about 25 degrees . LOL. I don't generally ride in less than 60-70 degree weather . I know that in my turbo charged car I generally try and keep air fuels at wot in the high 11s. I think the so called optimum forced induction air fuel ratio is 12.5??

12.5 is pushing it. A nice tune is a 11.8 and safe tune is 11.5 IMO.

That's what I mean. If they run 13s air fuel with the stock fueling that seems kinda lean.

i have noticed these skis to run a bit lean stock and with your mods even more. on 2 skis with the same mods you have i installed walbro fuel pumps with out touching anything else and noticed the lean spot on bottom that they all have was gone, acceleration and throttle resonce picked up quite a bit as well. i only changed the fuel pumps because the stock ones went bad.... this maybe somthing to look into if you dont want to go nuts with tuning. i have set up many skis with your same set-up they all ran a lil lean like yours and they will run for ever.

If thats the case then I would not worry about it. We ride in cooler temps than that.

Thanks for the info. Those fuel pumps are pretty cheap so it might be a worth while mod.
