    FXHO ECU in the FX140

Anyone ever tried swapping the FXHO(160HP) ECU into the FX140 electrics to gain that extra 20HP?

Is the ECU the only difference in the 2 motors?

The wiring harness looks a bit different as well, but I think to accommodate the remote sensor. Hard to tell from the IPC.

Not that simple unfortunately........998 cc compared to 1052 cc, 160 has larger throttle bodies, probably different cams also.

from what i have found out is its diff cams, pistons, head gasket and ther is something else i think. I also believe the FXho has the compas and water temp and the remote thing.

It honestly would probably be cheaper to just do all the little things that Riva has for the FX140. Speaking of i need to order some stuff as the riding season is approaching.

Nah, I got an FX140 with the 160 long block, but old style electrics. Runs great, reaches the 10,300 RPM I'm just trying to figure out what HP I am producing because I have the old pump and am looking to upgrade to the new HO style pump with the 14/20 dynafly.

Must be getting old.......forgot you had the HO motor! Have you GPS'd top speed? Should be between 57 & 59 mph for a stock 160. Your hull will be heavier then the HO, that may also have a slight affect. If you are hitting 10300 rpm, then changing the ECU would make no difference to top speed.

Xmas time of year, this little island gets insanely busy, everyone seems to be on vacation roads are crammed! I shoulda been on the lake two days ago, but I am hoping to test my setup and GPS my runs tomorrow morning. Looing for a marine handheld to borrow, but I may have to use my mobile GPS, should provide same accuracy.
