possible mods for a 1999 slth

I have a 1999 slth that I'm currently in the process of rebuilding. I have the updated ignition kit and my brand new crank just showed up today. I'm wondering what I can do to get a little better performance. My goal is to get this ski running in the low or possibly mid 50 MPH range, although at least 50 is where I want to be. I have not done anything with the top end of the engine as of yet. So far I'm thinking of adding an ocean pro ride plate, as I hear these hulls benefit a little speed wise with this plate. My other thought is to add trim. I know it can be done but can't seem to find how to do it. Are there any options out there as far as exhaust for a reasonable price such as modifying a stock pipe. I already have a 6 vein stator to addto it. Aftermarket reeds will also be in the future. I'm not looking to go all out crazy I just want it to be a little better than stock. I don't know how this ski performs, but I assume it would be very similar to my friends slt 780

Contact Jay at Sharp's. He posted up a 700 powered ski not too long ago with some nice mods.

How fast should this ski run stock? I'm guessing 48 to 50. Being roughly the same horsepower I would guess it would be the same as a slt 780

That hull is very easy to modify. Start with the 6 degree wedge. easy 1.5mph. Change the prop. There's another easy 1mph with a nujet prop. The ocean pro on my X45 (exact same hull) worth 1mph and great tracking! This will put you solidly in the low 50's and there are lots of people who will chime in after this. Trimming the back of the sponsons also nets almost 1mph I hear. Try the non-motor stuff first. This will retain reliability. Good luck.

That's kind of where I want to go with this. Leave the motor stock with the exception on the reeds and go for some simple hull mods
