RXP Upgrade. Where should I start: 215 or 155?

I am planning on buying a new sea doo and making all the necessary mods: supercharger, intercooler, ECU, injectors, etc. Does anybody know if instead of buying an RXP 215 and throwing away all the excess original parts, I could buy an RXP 155 and add the supercharger and other stuff to that craft? Is the engine in the RXP 155 the same as the one in the RXP 215: pistons, etc, just without the supercharger? Does the engine have the supercharger mounting spot? Are the other components of the craft the same as the ones of the RXP 215?

i havnt had much work with NA's but i do know the NA motors have cast pistons. SC motors have forged rotating assemblies stock.

I would start with the 215. I believe there are more immediate bolt on performance options available. JMO! I think you will be happier in the long run.

    Whats different:
    pistons
    fuel pressure regulator
ECU (7600 RPM on 155 vs 8100 RPM on 215)
    impeller
PTO housing on 155 does not have the hole for a supercharger

Other possible difference (would require you to "search")
    double-row gear/flywheel
    injectors
    driveshaft

The question you want to ask yourself is: Do I want to go fast? Let us know when you get the 215!

I went the other route...i had a 155 n/a engine but no hull....found a 05 rxp hull for cheap and put the 155hp n/a in it... there is alot of things different.... like others stated start with a 215. pump/immpeller/ drive shaft on 155 is smaller... PTO would need to be changed. Pistons are cast. comp ratio is 10.5... cam is differant... ECU is differant, no VTS on 155 model... intake manifold is differant... "(throttle body is in the front)... not sure about fuel pressure reg is differant (but i used the 215 pump/ fpr from the 215 tank)... to much would need to be changed to make it cost effective... IMO start with a 06,07,08...because of cost.... them, upgrade from there.
