The manufacture date is on the engine id plate on the front of the block. You will probably need a mirror to read it.

The warranty blocks are shipped from BRP without the id plate , the productiond date is under front motor mount bracket.

Only way to know for sure what valves you have is to pull the vlave cover and rocker shaft and read the numbers on the top of the valve stem.

I know what the new numbers should be, but does anyone know the numbers for the troubled valves that need to be replaced?

If the valves start with 75 on the exhaust side you have the new valves. If they start with 72, you have the older model hollowed out valves that are prone to failure.

To do it "correctly" you will need to replace the rocker arm bolts after removing them... I reused mine... some say it's ok to reuse them once some say not to...you will not need to replace any gaskets as the valve cover gasket is rubber...you will need a torque wrench... and a dial to meassure the the 90 degrees after your done torquing the bolts ...
