Thread: 300LX range??
12-29-2010, 10:11 AM #1
Anyone have an idea how far a 300LX might go on one tank of gas? (in flat water) We're getting 100 miles on a tank with our Ultra LX's now and I'd like to upgrade to the 300 mostly because of the cruise control and adjustable trim.

I will let you know exactly when mine gets. I am sure it will be very good staying out the boost which leads me to say......
If it is not the power that is getting you interested in the new ski but the new features, I would hold out a year. I would be willing to bet they will offer all these features on the natural LX soon. I am sure the engine in these skis will become more reliable and efficient also. I am getting mine so I can keep up with everyone I ride with BUT I am not getting rid of Blue.
I am hoping normal riding will give us a range just as good as our skis

The web site shows the same 20.6 gallon tank. So wide open throttle it will not go as far. (more power = more fuel) The interesting part of this ski is the eco mode and cruise control. I believe these will be very helpful in getting maximum mileage from the ski. If its like others in this class it should have maximum range somewhere around 42mph. Easily over 100 miles.
All speculation of course, I would love to find out for myself!

My 260 will cover 60miles per tank at WOT. No fuel is visible in the tank. The 300 is supposed to be more efficient.
I don't know what moderate cruising range would be, never done a whole tank at cruising speed.

Moderate cruising, between 25-40 mph I'll use 4-5 gph so a little over 100 mi. on a tank--maybe up to 125. As mentioned if you stay out of the boost your mpg or gph should be pretty good.

Just know that 300LX trip range would be very similar to that of 260X or 250X, maybe slightly better.

100kms easy with 250/260 conversion, ride plate, deep fuel pick up, 6deg timing. Full wide open all the way. If you got small pulleys, no way.
