Carbon Tech reeds?
Anyone run Carbon Tech reeds on there Ultra 150's? If so how did they perform?

Actually, the best reed for the Ultra 50 seem to be the stock ones. Lots of people have tried the aftermarket ones and have had issues with them lasting a reasonable amout of time. The carbon tech's ten to break and chip.

It seems to me that Carbon Tech reeds aren't as good as they used to be. The stock ones last forever.

I ran V-Force and they lasted 20 hours!!!!!! All were chipped and one completely broken in the end. They are very good for mid-range punch (the stock is much softer) but as said above, just don't last.

While the stock ones last forever they just don't perform as well as aftermarket ones. I ran carbon tech all race season and they look as good as they did when I installed them. If you are going to upgrade to high performance parts you will be replacing them at some point. That is the cost of going fast. If you want something reliable leave it stock and go putt around the lake.

Yeah, V-Force reeds don't last long at all. When I first put them on My SXi-Pro, I had to replace them half way through the season. I installed Carbon Tech reeds on the V-Force valves and went at least a couple more seasons.
