Provide more info regarding the condition and status of your Polaris.

    What is know good?

    What is known bad?

    Suspected bad?

I picked up a 2004 Polaris Genesis I for $300. With trailer. The boat is in excellent condition, but the tech showed me that the emm has some burnt spots in it. I haven’t try to start it, but it appears the EMM needs replacement. This will be the first time for me to work on a Polaris. I have 4 Yamaha's and one Kawasaki.

Any Polaris domestic three cylinder motor will physically bolt into the Genesis hull. The electrical and fuel systems are quite different between the fuel injected and carb engines.

Don't write off the EMM so fast. Often they can be repaired.

In the USA DFI Technologies are the place to send damaged EMM. If the unit can be repaired the cost is roughly $700US.

The Ficht system used by Polaris (and for a short time also Kawasaki and Tigershark) is very different from the fuel injection systems used on Yamaha 2-stroke PWC.
