How many SHIMS to add?
Hey guys I have my SCer out and the Slip movement is 50inch pounds. How many shims do you think I should add?
1 or 2?
Also were in the spring washer does it go? 04 SCer with metal washers?

Austin, which washers do you have, the coated or uncoated? The uncoated washers slip at a lower rate. Start with one shim and see what the slip moment is. From the retaining nut down, you put the shim under the second washer (or 3 washers up from the SC hub).

Mine is set at 130 in lbs, and it will brake in a little lower after some runs. I have the les cooke coated with 2 shims now.

After my SC started slipping with Stan's dvice I added one shim but it made the slip movement to tight. If you try moving the shim in diffrent spot between the spring washers and even change out the spring washers you will be suprise. I even took out the washer (metal) closest to the gear and turned it over which made a diffrent on the slipage.

I also have the coated Les cooke washers. So maybe I should just do 130in pounds?
So in the link I posted between what numbers do I place the shim.

they most certainly do bite back
I got my eye on that Race Engineering new Oil lubricated clutch support design... hopefully that affordably solves our problems
