Thread: 3D Purchase?

O.K. I know almost everybody hates this craft BUT they can be had brand new for roughly 4K, the kids love the idea of this ride. In the cart mode it reminds me of the "wedge" that used to go around the old 440/550 hulls.
What do you guys think? Worth the bucks for a good time?
What year does the craft have the new more powerful engine?

i've ridden them before, i still think they are fun... but nothing i could spend more than an hour screwing around with... a great second ski, not a primary means of watercraft... i still contemplate picking one up for myself really cheap just to beat up and screw around with
2004-2005 is the same 110HP powerplant
2006-2007 is the 951 DI motor 130 HP

I'm thinking a brand new 06 for 4K should be O.K. then. This will be an 8th or 9th ski, so it won't be much more than something to kick around and have some "different" fun with, I think it might be something worth having.........

if you can find an 06 3D for 4k let me know!! I'd honestly buy one (and i work at a dealership)
that would be a helluva deal
the 04-05 models are HIGHLY discounted right now due to an "unadvertised" dealer rebate on them... depending how desperate they are to unload them, you can get them for dealer cost less the rebate.. which would be even less than 4k... that's on 04-05 models
06 models... the same rebate does not apply, the the retail and dealer cost is something like 2 grand MORE than 04-05 models.

I'll call Sal tomorrow but I'm positive that's what I saw, 4K, it was new, the only question I have is was it an 05 or 06 (it was red). I looked right at the VIN number and don't remember what the heck the last digits were, my son climbed all over it but I was looking for his quad. We're looking for a deal on a DS 250.

05 came in white/red OR white/orangy/yellow/goldish
There's a 3D base model and regular 3D
06 is black/red
also note... 3Ds come only as THREE D's .... knee attachment and cart attachment are sold separately to have all 5 positions = $$$$$$$

I know it's not an 06, Conrad said it's this one.

ok that's the 2005 Seadoo 3D PREMIUM
Retail is $7300... there's currently a $2000 (unadvertised, dealer ) rebate ... that brings us to $5300 "retail" after rebate
at $4000 he's giving it to you at his cost pretty much... not to mention he's been paying flooring on it for almost 2 years
if you were looking at a 04-05 3d BASE model (not the premium that u pictured) ... you could take about $800 off the price
it's been awhile since i've had a 05 brochure or even had someone inquire about a 3D.. i can't for the life of me recall the difference between the 3D BASE & Premium and the seadoo website isn't giving me very much info either

The 3D base did not come with the Moto seat as shown in the picture above. Most of the red ones were the "premium" versions that I saw. The yellow ones seemed to be predominately the base models. The hurt to the pocket comes when you start getting the optional seats for the 3D. I have the 'Shoq' pole and cart seat for the one I have. I picked mine up in the early spring of 06. Its an 05 model and I paid about $4400 for it then. The cart seat retails for around $500 and the pole is another couple of hundred bucks. My dealer gave me some really good deals off retail on those parts though. Couldn't have been much more than cost. I also have the bags that mount on the side. The storage space on a 3D is all but nothing.
The ski can be fun though. I have my RXP for speed. The 3D is a break just to screw around with... but also for a good a teenager who isn't that experienced with the skis.
