    Jetline waterbox for a Wr500?

I have never messed with a waterbox is it worth adding to my 1989 Wr500?

    I have already done:
    milled the heads
    Pro-tec cdi
    pro-tec ride plate
    stainless impeller
    pro-tec bowl
    larger carb and Boyesen reeds
    Air cleaner
    j/d scoop
    Removed Exhust baffle
    Bilge pump

    Can't find a Pro-tec pipe

    Not sure what is left?

    Thanks

Doubt it. Everything I've heard is they make it louder and lose rpm. 2-strokes need back pressure

    Thanks for the reply!

I was not sure if it would or not. I will keep saving for a pipe if I ever find one.

lightened flywheel (have yours cut by protec) ,cleaning up the bad sleeve alinement yamaha did along with the rough sand castings on the intake and exhaust runners..a light upper end porting to raise rpm slightly.....slap some denso iridiums into it,with index washer's..

non o/e water box clears out quicker at bottom end so the slight rpm drop can be made up with attention to the things i stated above.. box will work best with the protec pipe and a restrictor valve to control water flow thru the exhaust system (watch the water box feeder hoses for overheating)
about all you have left is to find the mytical intake manifold, I once read about and the protec pipe...

most all non o/e parts you will find for a 500 can be found every once in a while on ebay..
