Lets race for prise money not plastic

Would you all race in the 1/4 mile drags to start like drag boats if i can put an open class for 80 mph and over ( an unlimited class) with rules by governing body.

With an money prize for each class. A $800.00 FIRST $300.00 SECOND

THAT IS BASED ON A 15 SKI FIELD.

To start I was thinking 3 classes

65 mph and less dial in class
65 to 80 mph dial in class
80 mph and over unlimited class

If I get you to show and run more classes could come

    pm me with questions

1/4 mile is too long. Unlimited ski can hit 90-95mph+ in a 1/8 mile. Superstock ski can hit 85mph+ in a 1/8 mile. Point is these skis are all done accelerating in a 1/8 mile. After a 1/8 mile they are just hanging on.

So what am hearing is you all want to let the skis sit or run hydro drags if they come back. But why not ask a simple question can we run an 1/8th mile or a 1000 ft. which can be done. I guess I don't understand what skill is in a drop start. I just want to race my ski. and not drive 1500 miles to do so. If their was a hydro drag in the mid west and was a weekend that I was not running the 1/4 mile I would be their to run. EVEN THOUGH MY SKI DON'T FIT IN A CLASS. I know that I will get my ass handed to me I am still willing to try. For the fun of the sport.

Alot of the skis running the Hydro Drags are also daily/weekend skis. People just want to see who has the baddest ski. Oh, and I looked at one of your videos and I dont see what the skill is in a start from an idle, or did I miss something?

I have Drag raced so I know how difficult it is to cut a good light, with a car, sitting still. I still dont see how without a drop start like the Hydro drags used you can use a tree for starting. Maybe if you explained how the start is done.

Coming off the lanuch pad good is a little more than just seating on the ski and pulling the trigger. If you haven't tried it by now, maybe you will never know. You are right about one thing, I wouldn't want to lose to a 60mph ski on a rolling start because I didn't cross the start line at the perfect time.

I worked hard on my ski to have a killer holeshot from a standing start and to top out at a 1/8 mile. I think most of the Hydrodrag guys have done the same thing. So, bracket racing and rolling starts may not appeal to many of these guys.

The only thing the Hydordrag lanuch pad needed was some kind of system to decide if there was a false start or not( lights and video). Besides the guys on the platform or a guy at the shoreline calling them.

I don't doubt the difficulty of bracket racing but don't think the majority of us are interested in that. Most of us are comparing boats and how quick they are for bragging rights. It might be more of a interesting sport with people that own stock boats.

^^ What he said. 1/4 mile is way to long and even the 1/8 might be stretching it a bit.

It don't haft to stay a bracket class Things can change. I was thinking of a 65 mph class 80 to 65 then a super stock and an unlimited both to to be the fastest wins. you don't Haft roll in to the start. If I hole shot the start I leave at a 2.5 sec. if I roll to the start I leave at 3.5 sec. I have found a rolling start I have less cavitation. Just what I do
