Do I need a gasket?
When I replace the oil pump with the block off kit on my GP1200R motor do I need to use the gasket from the pump? Do I need to use a gasket? I have noticed none of the kits on the market come with a gasket. What else can I use if I do not have a good gasket for the pump? Thanks.

I would say that since they put a gasket on the pump, then you should use a gasket with the block off plate. If the gasket is ok, then you are probably ok to reuse it.

YES! use a gasket or make one out of gasket material if yours is bad.

Gasket sealer or silicone will do the trick also. Pretty easy to seal, as all you are doing is preventing water from getting in.
