Thread: Woodruff Key
11-08-2006, 03:11 PM #1
Someone mentioned to me when I was taking off my flywheel/stator not to lose my woodruff key. After doing so I didn't see one.
What is it used for? Where is it exactly, and which one do I replace it with. (I saw a bunch of them in the hardware section at my local hardware store this past weekend).

Number 20, it usually stays in place. It might still be there a little half moon shaped key way. A drop of RED loctite and it won't go far if you have to replace it.

Thanks bud. I checked last night, the key is still snug in place. Looks like the last person to mess with the engine put the loctight in there so that's one less thing to worry about!
