    extended drive shafts..need one

    i installed a suck my wake pump extension kit..and
    30 min later...

    not happy..i am making good power but not stupid..and it was on mostly flat water today ..nothing more than a few boat wakes..
    .can you buy just the drive shaft from riva or sca???
    i can probably have the company that makes the axles for the drag cars make one for me... the suck my wake one is mild steel didnt know that when i bought it ..i bought it used..it will rust like a mofo...and it obviousely isnt strong enough..

    so i need to figure out what i need to make it out of...the hardening ect...
    rxt ones are longer..
    any racers getting rxt ones redone ..there has to be an answer i know at least two people that need one..

    2 inches longer than a rxp which is 24 3/4 inches tip to tail so 26 3/4

    anyone know how long a rxt one is..

    do the high hp cc guys run a 2 piece driveshaft??

    All the RXPs I have ever seen have used stock shafts, some running 400+ Les turbos, I have seen a good few snap tho, they were being run with the setback skat pump. Although the issue was possibly to do with the end of the crank or flex in the hull.

    Bushells turbo RXTX S3 was running a custom 2 piece but that failed at least twice, there isn't much room between the hull and PTO for the coupler and driveshaft seal.

    The coupled driveshafts do take a lot of the shock out at the PTO but they are not bullet proof nor are they cheap.

    If you can find someone in the business of driveshafts then Im sure they can make one easy enough. Biggest issues is finding/making a material strong enough to take the power without being brittle and just snapping.

    a RXT driveshaft is always shorter then RXP, as the pumpshoe from the RXP has 2" more setback.

    The 2 piece driveshaft is a perfekt solution if you are using a quality unit and bearing, engine alignment , bearing support, length of driveshaft play a big role in reliabillity

    James Bushell's 2 piece drive shat was a home made setup and not perfekt at all, but the drive shaft has not snapped off since he is running a 2 piece design.
