    Les Cooke A-kit S/C impeller

Hey guys finally i got my A-kit s/c impeller in on monday from australia , it is the new red anodized one rated 10psi and it even comes with a set of clutch washers ! , it is the same size as the stock so it fits right in your stock S/C . Today i had time and bolted in on and ran it i got 10.8psi on my digital boost guage (better than expected) at 8500rpm with a 4"intake , tha gain is impressive acording to Les it is a 20hp increase over stock and the best news is it's only 115g it is 60g lighter than the RR impeller and half the weight of stock meaning half the wear on your bearings and your clutch making your S/C more reliable and that is awsome news !! i ran it with 42lb inj to be on the safe side , one more thing i should mention i was on ful boost and let off suddenly the s/c made loud chirp so naturally i crapped in my shorts thinking i schrewed something up during install so i called Les and he told me it is normal , he freaked out at first to not knowing what it was but they tested it endles hours and the sound is created by the back pressure rushing through the baldes of the impeller in other words harmless . i guess this weekend my S/C will chirp like a bird running 3 ft seas

    Cool deal!

The chirping noise is perfectly normal.

So is this a better buy than the Riva pro series SC besides the wait for shipping?

The Riva stage 3 SC blows the A kit away. It moves a much larger volume of air due to the taller blade design (hence the need for the modified front housing) 11.8 psi boost with the Riva stage 3 SC.

Now, the A kit blows away the old Riva/Vortech sc impeller.

I've heard it before on SDJoe's truck. It's known as "Turbo Bark" and it's not exactly harmless. Par for the course, would be more like it.
