RXPX RXTX Stock Class Dyno Curves

    Hi Guys
Recently we fitted an engine from a 2010 RXPX to our engine Dyno
We have done this before but not had a lot of success with the drive shafts so never got to do any real testing.
Thanks to lots of input from various people around the globe, some from this community we sorted the issues.
For the record the one largest thing that helped was never letting the engine idle, we effectively only ran it above 4500 rpm.
We were able to get very reliable ramp runs and in some cases reruns that I conducted overlayed exactly.
This set up then enabled us to do some really good testing making very small changes and being able to measure a positive or negative result.
The engine was set up to stock class spec with only a 4" air intake fitted.
The final ramp runs on the MoTeC were done with the fuel pressure lifted from 4- 5 bar pressure to get that last bit of power at the top as with out this the engine is running way to lean.
We tried different AFR's and plenty of different ign curves, we tested different cam timing positions as well and ended up with a 60 HP gain from the stock set up

Yes the lion share of the extra HP comes from the higher RPM and therefore higher boost
and yes you couldn’t run 9250 safely on an engine with only retainers although I have some more info about that coming soon.

    Pics below for your perusal

    Cheers

Pete, could you share more info on the incremental gains, and what changes made what differences in hp?

    Hi
I am not sure if our dyno will do that, I will have a look when I get back in on Monday
Other wise tell me a few rpms that you want measurements at and I will click on the graph and read them off.

    Cheers

    Awesome results.
What did the stock engine put out before the motec tweaking?

    I believe that a stock 255/260 only puts out a real 233hp
