    which part to get

I have to replace a starter bendix on my 1200XL PV motor. I have found some on E-Bay. One is an aftermarket with a one year warranty for $39. The second one I'm looking at is a used yamaha part pulled from a ski with 66HRS on it and no warranty for $55 plus $11 for shipping. Which one would you use? Has anyone used a aftermarket bendix from E-Bay and if so did you have any problems. I will be buying one by the end of the week.

stay away from the aftermarket "cheap" ones. you get what you pay for. these are typically made in china, and do not last. they can cause major damage when they come apart, not to mention are hard to replace.

stick with a good, used, OE ( or new) from a reputable seller ( whos knows the difference from good, and bad).

i have them here for 50.00 + s&h. these are fresh water, reconditioned OE. i take them apart, fully inspect, and only keep the best of the best.
