    Tap Thread

I need to know what size bit I need to use for a 6 mm - 1.0 tap.
Is it a 13/64 or is that to small?

    Thanks

For Metric sizes only. Diameter of thread minus the pitch equals the tap drill size.
    eg. M6 x 1
    6 - 1 = 5mm

    Thanks guys.
This is my only tap that does not say exact size of bit to use on side.
    It says 6 mm - 1.0
So I guess that means to use 5 mm bit size.

If you dont have metric bits, you could use a 13/64 in hard metal(stainless), or a 3/16 bit in soft (aluminum)
