    Boost bottle?

How come I've never heard of this until now?

Sounds like it would work well on a Polaris engine.

This is a good step by step with pics.

I had one on my banshee. I dont know if it really did anything but it seems to be a popular mod on them.

Yes, VERY popular on the Banshees and the GPR's as well, at least with the racer guys. Also popular on a lot of stock snowmobiles, probably to help with the constant on/off throttle position associated with trail riding.

    Where do you get them?

I see my carbs spit alot, and would think it should help use that wasted "pulse" for some good on the next cyl.

I've seen it mentioned on alot of snow mobiles. I also never new what it does.

The add mentions the reeds slamming shut. I'm wondering how much air the reed pedals will move back up the intake.
I'm thinking the bottle tunes the intake runner length/size,making it work better at certain rpm's.
Auto makers tune their intake runners. There are a bunch of cars/trucks with variable intake runners. The ones i've worked on had 2 runner lenghts-a solenoid swicthes between the 2 at certain rpm's.

Casey, I added another link in the original posting that really helps to show it's use.

The article starts with the text "All 2 stroke engines without a reed valve will ..."

Does that suggest boost bottles apply mostly to engines without reed valves?

Mind you, the entire article reads like it was written by someone who doesn't really know how the thing works, and is guessing at the details.
