98 gtx ltd-can i do this to the nozzle?

Attachment 226911 i picked up this and noticed this plastic oblong insert in the bottom of the steering nozzle(bolt removed) and i can take it and turn it around to give the nozzle a "trim up" effect or will it be too much? less control at higher speeds? eh?

This was done on Level I modified GTXL in a magazine review. The reviewer thought it didn't handle very precisely or something, I forget how it was worded. He switched it back to stock and regained the handling he expected, but lost 1 mph Vs. "trim up".

    Worth trying out.

Jim, what do you like about it and in what conditions? # riders, towing, etc.

With it down the nose tends to "bow steer". If you are towing you most likely will like it in the down position-- I don't towe. With it up GTXs feel more playful. I can say that on some GTXs the difference is more than others-- try it-- if you like it leave it-- if you don't put it back...

Is this the same on all GTX's. I never heard this one and haven't had to remove the nozzle for any reason. Is it the same on a 97' and 98'? I have both 97' w/787 and 98' w/951. I do tow a little, mostly with the 97', but any speed improvement would be great! I know the nozzles are different. I removed the splitter from the 97 years ago.
