    2000 XP 951cc rebuild

I have a 2000 XP that i bought ceased. I've completely rebuilt the engine but i have a few questions before i get it running.

Fistly, it had a micro touch in it that was removed prior to me buying it. It's got aftermarket twin pipe exhausts. I've re-wired it back to standard. Am i correct that the micro touch is mainly just to lift the rev limiter and isnt actually required?

Also with the aftermarket exhausts do i still need to hook up the raves?

It's got buckshot twin carbs, anyone know of a good write-up on tuning these once i get it running?

After reading through a few posts i'm now going to change my fuel lines (they are the old grey type) and clean out my fuel system.
Can anyone provide me a bit of information about my carbs from the following pictures? I know very little about them?

I would say that you need a reprogrammed MPEM if there is no Micro Touch in it now other wise you wont reach the revs where the twin pipes actually work best.

IMO those carbs are the biggest POS ever made. They are very hard to tune & when tuned they will not hold a tune.

Tuned good in the morning, runs like crap in the heat of the day. Get a set of Novis & never look back.

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated. Looks like i'll be saving for some Novi's. Any thoughts on whether i should go for 46's or 48's?
Also im wondering, when i replace my fuel lines. Can i skip past the fuel selector and run straight to the pump, via a filter?
