    RXP-X first mods

    Hi all,

I have a stock RXP-X (apart from a riva free flow pipe) and was wondering what some good first/cheap mods are to do to the ski.

I ride in sea water if it makes a difference.

    Thanks,

Sure go to the how to section here and there is a thread about kanaflex intake. ... Alot of people are running 4 inch kanaflex tubing with a air filter.. it will tell you all about it and how to install it. hope this helps.

Intake intake intake.....riva grate, 2 degree wedge with VTS extension, also look for ksalles post on his journey to 80 mph with a p-x. I will post the link below. Follow his instructions for the best results possible IMO

definitely do the kanaflex 4" air intake. If you ride in choppy water get the worx intake grate but if you ride in smooth water get the r&d grate. Also fill your rideplate holes. Oh and a greenhulk sticker is worth about 1mph

My testing shows it adds on average 1.364 mph. Extensive testing also shows if you place on on your kanaflex intake you get increased flow. One on the SC and you add boost. Basically, they reduce weight, add HP, increase flow, and overall increase boost and top speed. Cover your ski in them. It can only help.

If gonna replace the intake grate I would say stay away from the Worx grate. At 78 the ski will start to stuff even with pump relief installed. The Riva grate is good for max speed gains and is good up to 77 with no pump relief. I ran the Riva for an entire season in all riding conditions with no problems. Anything over 77ish I would recomend the R&D (open course) grate. The R&D is a nice grate, workmanship is far superior to the Worx. If anyone is interested I have a Worx for sale cheap, I actually polished the thing and had it powder coated due to the original poor casting (looked like a POS). If your not planning on running speeds higher than 77 it's a good closed course grate, it will keep the pump loaded. I also have the Riva grate if interested just PM me.

I mostly ride on sea water so it is kind of choppy. I'm not sure if i will run speeds over 77 but for now im going to do the kanaflex mod and change the grate. In time though i will probably change the exhaust to a through-hull, and eventually do some other mods too, so which grate will be best in your opinion, i was thinking the R&D..
