I went on my first ride today with my new left over 08 px. This was my first time to ride a sc ski. The water temp was 48, outside temp was 68 and the ski ran great. There is no mods done this was the first time i even cranked the ski.i got 70.5 on gps but at the top speed i heard a girgling sound from my left knee area. Is this norm or was i hitting rev limiter. I did not see rpms at top speed. Thanks craig

Probably your motor blowing up as you MUST have a break in period for the first 10hr or so....
(just my opion)

Cmon guys a little WOT here and there won't hurt anything 70.5 is pretty good for stock. These things really open up in cold water/air.

A 10 hour break in is NOT required but is recommended....You can break a engine in any way you want..It only took me 1 hour before i WOT my skis and they havent blown up in 4 years...SO to say his motor is blowing up is wrong to say...Lets not give false information until we have more facts and not scare Craig into thinking his ski is falling apart...Im with Jim..I feel hes hearing his air intake under the seat...

Maybe the air intake? PXs hull make some weird noises. The stock intake grate will make the hull make noises on glass/near glass water. Even the AM grate make noise. I have had guys that ride RXPs get on my PX and asked whats that noise. Don't worry just ride it. You may want to "NUT AND BOLT" the ski. Make sure everthing to tight. I know the tech at the SD dealer didn't do it.

Just curious...How many hours did you put on the NEW ski yesterday? I have always been under the impression that the ECU would gradually increase RPMs as time passed within the first 10 hours...In short, how long did it take to see 70.5 mph?

everyone has a opinion on how to break a engine in....I ran my WOT within the first hour....but i didnt hold it at wot for a long time....
My old man has drag raced his entire life...he's built so many engines it crazy... his philosophy is break it it how you intend to run it...So, if your gonna run it hard after "break in" then run it hard during break in....
